'Red Chrysanthemum' - Fused Glass Plate
From the ancient Greek chrysos (gold) and anthemum (flower), the chrysanthemum was first cultivated in China for its herbal qualities. The 'mums' we see today, however, are very different from those of ancient times, and carry different symbolism and cultural significance depending where in the world we are. Connemara Blue favours the Japanese tenet that mums are a symbol for long life.
This plate is a textured piece on a grey base with an eye-catching combination of warm reds. A perfect wedding or anniversary gift, or simply a vibrant treat for the home. For an alternative or additional take on the theme, check out 'Chrysanthemum'.
