'Poolbeg - Dublin' - Fused Glass Wall Panel
Part of the 'Lighthouses of Ireland' collection, 'Poolbeg' features the stunning form of the lighthouse situated at the near centre of Dublin Bay. Originally built in 1768 and the first to use candlepower, Poolbeg is found at the end of the Great South Wall where the River Liffey runs into the sea. The red of the lighthouse of this panel indicates 'port side' for the vessels entering the bay; the lighthouse at the other side of the bay (North Bull Lighthouse), conversely, is painted green, indicating 'starboard'.
Constructed from swirling powders and foamy frit, iridescent gold on black, transparent blue and opal red glass, 'Poolbeg' is a striking art work to brighten any room, or a perfect handmade designer gift for someone special. Handmade by Connemara Blue.
